Grethel Morell Otero (Camagüey, Cuba 1977) is a historian of Cuban photography, curator, and art critic. She has written extensively on the body, the nude, and eroticism in contemporary Cuban photography; on the woman in 19th-century Cuban photography; and on the photodocumentary trends of the 1970s. Co-founder of Photography-Cuba, co-curator of the exhibition The Lost Gaze, Cuba 1970-1984. Member of UNEAC and the Internacional Association of Art Critics (AICA).
Abelardo G. Mena Chicuri (b. La Habana, 1962) served as a contemporary art curator at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) in Havana for 20 years before becoming an independent curator and art consultant. He is the curator of the Farber Collection, a U.S.-based private collection of contemporary Cuban art, and co-founder of Photography-Cuba, an organization dedicated to promoting Cuban photography. He is the Havana editor of Cuban Art News and author of the book Cuba Avant-Garde (2007).
